Establishment of Eco Clubs of Mission LiFE Portal and Tree Plantation Drive

Madam/Sir,
To sensitize students to environment climate change concerns and inculcate the values, attitudes, behaviours and skills essential to address environmental challenges so that students are prepared to contribute to sustainable further. For this school may establish Eco Club with their students under “Eco Clubs for Mission Life.” These Eco Clubs will work on the seven themes-Save Energy, Save Water, Say No to Single Use Plastic, Adopt Sustainable Food Systems, Reduce Waste, Adopt Healthy Life Style and Reduce E-Waste through out the year. Refer this office earlier Memo No. 355/132/Ped/PBSSM/2024 dated 23.04.2025.
A poral has been developed to establish Eco Clubs and upload their activities https://ecoclubs.education.govc.in.
Under Eco Clubs, tree plantation drive-“Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam“ may be scheduled by the schools from 05.06.2025 to 30.09.2025. The plantation site would be within and around school premises, degraded forest land or common land. In the urban areas the plantation sites may be in parks, green belts, Nagar Van areas.

The Saplings for plantation drive made available from the nurseries of the Forest Department, Horticulture Department, Urban Local Bodies, Corporations.

Each School to plant 70 sapling in–School/road leading to school/home/appropriate public place.

Saplings to be planted collaboratively by students and their mother.

Student/Teacher to go to ecoclubs.education.govc.in. a form will open-students will upload selfies of tree plantation activity with her/his mother on microsite hosted on Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE portal.

To ensure survival of the planted sapling, those saplings should be maintained.

Advocacy of the campaign on various digital/ Social media platforms may be done.

DEO, SSM and DFOs may be in touch for coordination and successful implementation of the programme.
