The National Education Policy is changing. This Education Policy emphasizes on science and real education. The funda of changing numbers by memorizing is changing. Importance of student skills. The draft of this Education Policy was published in June last year, where the views of various quarters were sought. The deadline to ask for that opinion was July 31, 2019. Then today 29.07.2020 the new National Education Policy 2020 was passed in the Union Cabinet.

Higher Education Secretary Amit Khar said the new Education Policy is being introduced in the country after 34 years. Launched in 1986 and amended in 1992, it is learned that the new Education Policy has been formulated with the views of various state government officials and academics.

● The name of the Central Ministry of Human Resource Development is being changed to the Ministry of Education.

● 6% of GDP is spent on education, currently 1.7%.

Right to Education up to 18 years, not just primary education. Special importance is attached to the education of girls/women.

● Additional fees cannot be charged at educational institutions. The salary structure has to be made in accordance with the rules of the central government.

● The proposal of NACB (National Academic Credit Bank) has been approved in the new Education Policy. Through which students will be able to deposit money (ফিস) through that credit bank in case of completion of any course. It can easily transfer (স্থানান্তরিত) from one course or institute to another.

●The new Education Policy will focus on multiple language education systems. Teachers have to teach not only in English, but also in all the regional languages (আঞ্চলিক ভাষা) ​​of India. Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD) has already taken review measures to teach students regional languages ​​in other states.

● The new Education Policy has 22-languages. There are also audio books.

● Sanskrit will be included as the main language at school level.

● There will be e-courses in regional Languages. Teaching, assessment, and training of students will include the use of Technology (প্রযুক্তি). Depending on the use of the e-course, reading will be available in the regional language. In addition to Hindi and English, in the first phase, there will be courses in major languages ​​such as CannadaOriyaBengali.

● The center is emphasizing on e-learning. For the time being, online studies will be conducted in 8-languages.

● The proportion of total enrolled students in India should be 50% by 2035.

● The Central Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has decided to abolish all school level examinations as per National Education Policy 2020. The new system will introduce 5 (primary education) + 3 (grade 3-5) +3 (grade 6-8) + 4 (grade 9-12) grade based assessments. The 10 + 2 structure will be scrapped only after receiving recommendations from boards and academics. The importance of Secondary Examination is no more. And the new Assessment system will be introduced from 2021.

● The education system from the very beginning to the class-XII has been divided into 4 parts. The basic education period of 3 years for Pre-primary and 5 years for I-II class has been identified first. Then the time from III to V class has been recommended as a preparation period tomorrow. The period from VI to VIII grade is considered as intermediate period. And a total of 4 years from class IX to class XII has been recommended as Secondary level.

● From Class IX to Class XII, Basic Education of higher education. There is no separate stream in class XII.

● School examinations in 3rd class, 5th class and 8th class. The board will take 10th and 12th class examinations. The method of testing and results will change.

● Reading in mother tongue is compulsory till class-V. Then it is optional.

● Vocational training from 6th class. There will even be a 10-day internship arrangement. Suppose someone wants to learn Electric work. He can learn from the class-VI.

● Students will also be able to take longer breaks between studies. This type of leave is called “sabatikal”. The Higher Education Commission (উচ্চশিক্ষা কমিশন) will decide how long you can take leave. Students (শিক্ষার্থীরা) will be able to choose major and minor subjects of their choice. Colleges will be given autonomy.

● Students will be able to learn coding from class VI. Efforts will be made to increase the sense of science.

● Board examination method needs to be changed. All courses for Central Board of Secondary Education – CBSE will be divided into two parts. Each subject (বিষয়) will be examined on objective and descriptive questions.

● Only one test ‘Common Entrance Test’ is required to be admitted for graduation. However, it is not mandatory now.

● There are many options for entry or exit in higher Education. E.g., 3-4 year Graduation. Someone thought, don’t read after 1 year. Then he will be given the certificate of that 1 year. Advanced Diploma in 2 years. Bachelor’s degree in 3 years. And complete, Bachelor with Research. Before or after leaving Graduation after 1 or 2 years, there would be no problem. Twelve had to pass.

● Higher education in the fields of language, Literature, Music, Philosophy, Art, Dance, Theater, Mathematics, Statistics, Science, Sociology, Economics, Sports, etc. will be established and strengthened in the institutes.

● You can’t take the subject of arts just by studying Science, that’s a matter of course. Science- Arts distance is decreasing. There is no separate Science, Arts, Commerce. One can read about Physics as well as Fashion technology.
