Syllabus SET Syllabus:
The Commission The West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) came into existence on November 02, 1979 in terms of Act LXII of 1978. The two main functions of the Commission are:
The Government of West Bengal in 1992-93 by an amendment of West Bengal College Service Commission Act, 1978 (Bill No. 41 of 1992) has nominated the West Bengal College Service Commission as the “State Agency” for holding the State Level Eligibility Test (SET) for Lectureship in Universities and Colleges of the state; the standard of which would be the same as that adopted at National Level (NET) held by the University Grants Commission (UGC)/CSIR. Qualifying SET/NET has been made a mandatory pre-requisite to be eligible for appointment to the basic grade posts of Lecturer in the broad disciplines of Arts, Science and Social Sciences in any University or Institution, deemed to be a University or College (Government & Non-Government, including religious or linguistic minority ones). |
