In view of the 18th General Elections to the House of People, 2024 (Parliamentary Elections, 2024) scheduled to be held on 19th, 26th April, 2024, 7th, 13th, 20th, 25th May, 2024 and 1st June, 2024

· Panchayat General Election on 8th July, 2023

Governor is pleased to declare the date of poll i.e. 8th July, 2023 (Saturday) to be a public holiday under section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

· General Elections to Kolkata Municipal Corporation, 2021

Since the date of poll on 19th December, 2021 falls on Sunday, which is a public holiday under the N. I. Act, 1881, separate order declaring the said date as a holiday is not necessary.

· Joining Time of HM/ AT/ Non-Teaching Staff due to Election Duty

I am directed to state that all transfers that were put on hold due to election duty and model code of conduct, West Bengal Legislative Assembly 2021, may be executed now.

· Schedule of General Election to West Bengal Legislative Assembly, 2021

All Government Offices, Organizations under it, Undertakings, Corporations, Boards, Statutory and Local Bodies, Educational Institutions etc. situated within the Assembly Constituency will remain closed on the respective dates so that every employee is able to exercise his/her right to franchise in the election.

· Opening Office on Holidays due to Election Work

Serviceing of appointment letters to the staff who will perform poll duty on 12th May, 2014 and to open office even on holidays with certain number of staff so that such type of appointment letter may be serve to office as an when required.

· Actions of School Authority i.c.w. ensuing Loksabha Election

The School ground should not be utilised for election meeting /activities without permission of concerned Sub-divisional officer. The School MC will forward the NOC to SDO in this regard.

· Infrastructure of Polling Booth in connection with Lok Sabha Election, 2014

Various preparatory activities in connection with the General Elections to the Lok Sabha 2014 are going on in full swing at present in all the districts of West Bengal as per the Standing instructions of the Election Commission of India. Governor is hereby pleased to declare that all the offices in NABANNA will remain open on the day of elections to the Howrah Municipal Corporation.

· Holiday in view of Elections/ Bye Elections, 2013

Elections/ Bye-elections to the Municipalities/ Municipal Corporation to be held on 22.11.2013 in different Districts in the State declared as public holiday.

There is an unprecedented situation prevailing in the State where the tenure of the Village Education Committees (VECs) have expired and new VECs would be reconstituted only after the Panchayat Election is completed.

· DPSC Candidates Elected under Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samity

Membership of candidates of all District Primary School Councils of this state who were elected under Zilla Parishad Members’ category and Panchayat Samity Members’ category pursuant to the election conducted by this Department in the month of November-2010 shall deemed to be terminated after publication of results of Panchayat General Election 2013.
