Notification regarding all nursing personnel belonging to West Bengal Nursing Service and West Bengal General Service.
Age of retirement of all categories of nursing personnel who are holding regular appointment and are in service on the 01.09.2018 shall be enhanced from 60 years to 62 years, with immediate effect.
Only female candidates who have secured 50.00% or above in case of UR candidates in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and pass mark in each subjects in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent.
Applications are invited from Male candidates for admission to three & half years G.N.M. Training Course in Nursing Training Schools under the Govt. of West Bengal. The last six months of the G.N.M. Course will be for internship.
Candidates are requested to visit the Notice section of www.wbhealth.gov.in for issuance of the final ‘No Objection Certificate’ for admission into Post Basic B.Sc Nursing/ M.Sc. Nursing courses, 2014-2016.
Each of the candidates provisionally selected for G.N.M. training course to be called for documents verification will have to bring Medically fit Certificate in the prescribed format from a registered Medical Practitioner having at least MBBS degree.
One-day orientation programme on “Nursing Management” at 2nd floor Auditorium of Swasthya Bhawan, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-91 on 05.08.2014 for Gr. I (ii) Sisters.
Only female candidates who have secured 50.00% or above in case of Unreserved candidates in aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (PCBE) and pass mark in each subjects in higher secondary (10+2) or equivalent.
Applications from the eligible female candidates are invited for admission into 2 (two) year A.N.M. (R) Training Course in Nursing Training Schools under the Govt. of West Bengal for the Session: 2014-2016.
Admission to the General Nursing & Midwifery (G.N.M.) course for the Session September, 2014 to February, 2018. Last date of receiving applications by the respective institution is 30.04.2014.
Medical Officers will attend IPGMER for training expected to be started from 27th January ’14 and end on 26th March ’14. Nursing Personnel will attend MR Bangur Hospital for training expected to be started from 27th January ’14.
· Posting and Transfer Policy of Nursing Personnel in West Bengal
At the time of appointment, all nursing personnel belonging to West Bengal Nursing Service and West Bengal General Service shall be posted at the District Hospitals, Sub-Divisional Hospitals, State General Hospitals or Speciality Care Units and continue for at least 3 years before consideration for transfer.

Applications are invited from the eligible nursing personnel of WBNS Cadre for undergoing Post Basic Diploma course in “Cardiothoracic Nursing” for the academic Session January 2014 to December 2014 at the Govt. College of Nursing, NRS MCH, Kol-14.

Applications are invited from the eligible nursing personnel of WBNS Cadre for undergoing Post Basic Diploma course in “Psychiatry Nursing” for the academic Session January 2014 to December 2014 at the Institute of Psychiatry, 7 D.L.Khan Road, Kol-25.

Applications are invited from the eligible nursing personnel of WBNS Cadre for undergoing Post Basic Diploma course in “Neonatology Nursing” for the academic Session January 2014 to December 2014 at the School of Nursing, SSKM Hospital, Kol-20.
· Uniform for Nursing Personnels under Health Services
In partial modification of all previous orders in respect of the uniform prescribed for nursing personnel under the Directorate of Health Services, Govt. of West Bengal, the following specifications are prescribed as uniform for nursing personnel while on duty:
· Enhancement of Washing Allowance of Nursing Staff
Governor has been pleased to enhance washing allowances of Nursing Staff from Rs. 25/- (Twenty five) only per month to Rs. 150/- (One hundred and fifty) only per month in respect of washing charges of the uniform with effect from 01.08.2013.
· Admission Notice for B.Sc. Nursing Course for 2013-2014
Admission to the first year B.Sc. Nursing Course in the Nursing Colleges in West Bengal will be available from 16th July 2013 to 29th July 2013 from the office of the Central Selection Committee (Nursing) at West Bengal Government College of Nursing, Kolkata.
· Trainee Reserve of M.Sc. Nursing and P.B.B.Sc. Nursing
Selection as Trainee Reserve will be strictly on the basis of merit, i.e. marks obtained in concerned Entrance Examination. Candidates should apply for obtaining No Objection Certificate in the prescribed format enclosed together with this.
· West Bengal Nursing Personnel (Placement on Trainee Reserve) Rules, 2009
West Bengal Nursing Personnel (Placement on Trainee Reserve) Rules, 2009 shall be applicable for all categories of nursing personnel employed in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, and borne in the cadres of the West Bengal Nursing Service, the West Bengal General Service.

· Nursing Superintendent – Duties & Responsibilities
Nursing Superintendent will act as the Liaison Officer between the Institution concerned and the Directorate of Health Services and other Nursing Officer of other Institution.
· Deputy Nursing Superintendent – Duties and Responsibilities
Deputy Nursing Superintendent is second in command in the Nursing Administration of the hospital. She will be responsible for management and supervision of nursing services of the various department of the hospital.
· Selection of Trainees for GNM – Guidelines to Selection Committee
A Selection Committee is constituted and a Guideline relating to selection of Trainees for the G.N.M. Training Course, for the session September, 2013 to February, 2017 is issued as per West Bengal state Nurses’ Training (Admission of Students) Rules, 1979.
· Admission to GNM Course: Session – Sept, 2013 to Feb, 2017

· Procedure of Pay Fixation of Nursing Staff for CAS-90 and MCAS-01
In such cases the overdrawal for the period from 01-01-2008 to 31-03-2008 shall be recovered with reference to unrevised pay drawn prior to 01-04-2008 as in the said period pay under W.B.S. (ROPA) Rules, 2009 is notional.
