• Stipulated Time Limit for rendering Services by Transport Department

  Governor is pleased to notify the following services, stipulated time limit for rendering the services, and particulars of each of the Designated Officers, Appellate Authority and Reviewing Authority, responsible for providing the services as shown in the table below:

• Revised Rate of Parking Charges for Goods and Passenger Vehicles

  Parking Charges for all types of trucks, trailers, containers, chassis and other goods vehicles – Amount chargeable for first 4 days – Rs. 100 per day or part thereof.

• Rate of Parking Charges for Goods and Passenger Vehicles

  Fees for parking will be charged as appended in the table below: Amount chargeable for 24 hours of parking or part thereof (rupees). – All types of trucks – Rs. 200

• Easy Movement of Goods and Passenger Vehicles at Bordering Areas

• Physical Inspection of Commercial Vehicles for Certificate of Fitness

  A commercial vehicle registered in the State of West Bengal may be produced before any RA within the State for fitness checking and will be issued Certificate of Fitness by the said RA.

• Acceptance of Transport Documents through DigiLocker / mParivahan

  The documents produced before the law enforcing authorities via DigiLocker platform or mParivahan App shall be deemed to be legally recognized at par with the original/ physical documents.

• Penalty for Overloading of Goods Vehicles in West Bengal

  To ensure road safety especially for the school children an “one-time scheme for regularisation of Pool Cars carrying School Children to Contract Carriages is formulated.

• Mobile Application of Transport Service

  To establish information connectivity between the passenger(s) or hirer(s) and the driver(s) or service-provider(s) of any passenger or goods vehicle.

• Monitoring Vehicles carrying School Children in Kolkata

  Five Special Groups of Officers will monitor and enforce all the provisions of law in respect of the vehicles carrying school children in the city of Kolkata.

• Renewal of Certificate of Fitness for Vehicles

  Chief Mechanical Engineer of the State Transport Undertakings will renew the “Certificate of Fitness” for the vehicles owned by respective organisation.

• Two Wheelers for Operation as Bike-Taxi in West Bengal

  To allow registration of two wheelers as ‘Contract Carriage’ for operation as “Bike-Taxi” to be introduced in the areas under New Kolkata Development Authority.

• Exemption of Tax Payment for E-Rickshaw Owners, 2016

  Payment of Tax by the E-rickshaw owners has been exempted upto 30th June, 2016 vide Transport Department Notification No. 1447-WT dated 07.04.2016.

• Technical Committee for fitting Speed Governor with Vehicles

  A Technical Committee, constituted to examine technical aspects of commissioning of speed governor in various categories of old vehicles, shall submit report within 30 days to Transport Department.
