1. Gujarat’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested a boat repairman on charges of passing sensitive military information regarding the movement of Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ships to a Pakistani agent who befriended him on Facebook. The suspect was identified by the police as Dipesh Gohil.
2. A fresh controversy has erupted in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi after the state Waqf Board reportedly claimed the ownership of the historic 115-year-old Udai Pratap (UP) college. The claim, which was first made in 2018, has come up again amid the ongoing discussion on the Waqf Amendment Bill.
The Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board has asserted that the college land, spanning over 100 acres, qualifies as Waqf property linked to a historical mosque within the campus.
3. Rajasthan is set to introduce a bill in the upcoming Assembly session to stop forceful religious conversions in the state, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel said.

1. The Joint Military Exercise Agni Warrior 2024 between Indian Armed Forces and Singapore Armed Forces concluded in Devlali, Maharashtra on Saturday. The three-day event began on the 28th of November. The 13th edition of the bilateral exercise witnessed participation of 182 personnel from the Singapore Artillery and 114 personnel from the Indian Army’s Regiment of Artillery.

In a spectacular Passing Out Parade (POP) held at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, on Saturday, 30 Nov, a total of 239 trainees, comprising Midshipmen of the 107th Indian Naval Academy Course, cadets of the 38th and 39th Naval Orientation Course (Extended), the 39th Naval Orientation Course (Regular), and the 40th Naval Orientation Course (Coast Guard and Foreign), graduated with flying colours, marking the successful culmination of their ab-initio training.
The Passing Out Trainees included eight foreign cadets from four countries and 29 women trainees. The Parade was reviewed by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff.

1. Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, toured the 93-year-old vessel ‘ITS Amerigo Vespucci’ on Saturday at Indira Dock of Mumbai Port Trust. During his visit, Sonowal held informal discussions and emphasized the commitment of India and Italy to further strengthen their friendship.
2. Attacks on Bangladesh Hindus: Kolkata’s JN Ray Hospital announced on Friday that it would stop treating Bangladeshi patients indefinitely. The decision comes in response to alleged anti-Hindu violence in Bangladesh and reported insults to the Indian flag by Bangladeshi nationals.
3. Israel has expressed willingness to provide technical expertise for the Musi river rejuvenation project initiated by the Telangana government, Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said.

1. Iceland votes for new parliament : Icelanders are electing a new parliament Saturday after disagreements over immigration, energy policy and the economy forced Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson to pull the plug on his coalition government and call an early election.
2. In Pakistan, 13 more people have been killed in the last two days in sectarian violence in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, taking the death toll in the recent clashes to 124.
3. In Syria, armed opposition forces have captured Aleppo, the country’s second largest city, within days of launching a major offensive in north-western part of the country. The Islamist militant group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allied factions had already captured a number of towns and villages in Aleppo and Idlib provinces, pushing back President Bashar al-Assad’s forces, since Wednesday.

2. India lost to Pakistan by 43 runs in its first game of the Under-19 Asia Cup 2024 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, UAE on Saturday. Batting first, Pakistan posted 281 for seven in 50 overs on the back of a 160-run partnership for the first wicket between Usman Khan and Shahzaib Khan. As per a blessing by Vishnu to marry Vrinda in her next birth, Vishnu – in form of a stone Shaligram married Tulsi on Prabodhini Ekadashi. (Salagrama or Shaligram is a fossilized shell used in South Asia as an iconic symbol – Shaligrams are usually collected from river-beds or banks such as the Gandaki River in Nepal.
To commemorate this event, the ceremony of Tulsi Vivah is performed. The Tulsi wedding or Tulsi Vivah is significant as it symbolises the beginning of wedding season as per Hindu calendar.
Another minor legend narrates that Lakshmi slew a demon on this day and remained on earth as the Tulsi plant.
