Department of a Land & Land Reforms implements land reforms. Therefore, it is essential to upgrade its capabilities for implementation of land reforms in the interest of the landless, marginal and small farmers.

  • Nijo Griha, Nijo Bhumi Project for Homeless People

    Government of West Bengal has launched Nijo Griha, Nijo Bhumi project. Under this project, ownership of five decimals of land per family of houseless agricultural labourers, artisans and fishermen has been given.

  • Direct Land Purchase Policy from Land Owners by Government

    Governor is pleased to allow the various departments of the State Government and the Central Government department to go in for the direct purchase of land for public purpose.

  • Direct Purchase of Land for Godowns, Roads, Bridges etc.

    Direct Purchase of Land for Public purposes to ensure optimal utilisation of public funds and early implementation of important infrastructure projects like food godowns, roads, bridges etc.

  • Guidelines for Operation of Brick Fields/ Brick Kilns

    Unplanned and unauthorised manufacture of bricks destroy top soil of agricultural land beyond reclamation and makes it un-usable for agriculture practices. So, guidelines for operation of Brick Fields/ Brick Kilns is felt necessary.

  • Regularization of Brick Fields/ Kilns on Agricultural Land

    Guidelines for one-time regularization of brick fields/ kilns which were set up on agricultural land on or before 1st September, 2000. Applications should be made to the District Land & Land Reforms Officer.

  • Services alongwith Stipulated Time Limit of Land & LR Dte.

    Services from Land and Land Reforms Department along with the stipulated time limit for rendering the services, the Designated Officers responsible for providing the services, the Appellate Officer and the Reviewing officer.

  • Disposal of Mutation and Conversion for Industrial Purpose

    Disposal of mutation petitions where name of the vendor from whom the present petitioner purchased the land has already been recorded in the R-o-R(s) and it is in his possession.

  • Disposal of Mutation and Conversion for Non-Industrial Purpose

    Disposal of mutation petitions where name of the vendor from whom the present petitioner purchased the land has already been recorded in the R-o-R(s), and it is in his possession, must be done within 45 days from the date of receipt of the petition.

    West Bengal Land and Land Reforms Manual covers the whole spectrum of activities of officials and functionaries at various levels of land and land reforms administration in West Bengal.

  • West Bengal Land Reforms (Amendment) Act, 2014

    An Act to amend the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955. “industrial park or industrial hub or industrial estate or financial hub or logistic hub” shall be substituted.

    • Revision of Rent i.r.o. Private Premises Hired for Public Purposes

      Considering the rapid hike of rate of rent in the market, the rent shall be enhanced upto 20% of the present rent after every three years instead of existing 20% after every five years. Enhancement of rent shall be made automatically after expiry of every three years from the date of possession.

    • West Bengal Land Allotment Policy

      The land allotted to any individual/ company/ institution etc. under the policy would be transferred to them by the Government and its parastatals by way of long term lease for a period not exceeding 99 years.

  • The Kolkata Land Revenue Act, 2003

    An Act to provide for securing the land -revenue within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporations of Kolkata and Howrah and other municipal areas under the Kolkata Metropolitan Department Authority as may be extended from time to time and in relation to matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

  • The Bengal Survey Act, 1875

    An Act to provide for the survey and demarcation of land. It extends to the States of West Bengal and Bihar and that part of the State of Orissa which on the sixth day of October, 1875, was subject to the Lieutenant Governor of Bengal.

  • Revision of Scale of Pay of Revenue Inspector of L&LR

    The Revenue inspector who was in service as such on 31.12.1995 may exercise option to come under revised scale as is allowed vide F.D. Memo No. 766-F, dated 27.01.2009 w.e.f. any date between 01.01.1996 and 01.01.1997.
