In view of call given by some organisations for pen-down/ strike on the 20th February, 2023 (Monday) and the 21st February, 2023 (Tuesday)

All Heads of Offices/ Controlling Authorities concerned will issue Show-Cause notice to the employee(s) concerned, who will remain absent on 28th March, 2022 and 29th March, 2022 or on any of these 2 (two) dates

In view of call given by some political parties for a 12 hours’ bandh on 28th February, 2022 (Monday), it has been decided that all State Government Offices shall remain open.

In view of a sudden call given by a few political parties for a 12 hours’ strike/bandh on 12th February, 2021, it has been decided that all State Government Offices shall remain open and all the employees shall report for duty on that date.

In view of call given by different trade unions and others for a 24 hours’ All India Industrial strike/bandh on 8th January, 2020, it has been decided that all State Government Offices shall remain open.

In view of call given by different trade unions and others for a 48 hours’ Bharat bandh w.e.f 8th January, 2019 to 9th January, 2019, it has been decided that all State Government offices shall remain open.

No Casual leave for absence either in the 1st half of the day or in the second half or for the whole day nor any other leave shall be granted to any employee on 26.09.2018.

• Treatment of Absence on 10.09.2018 for Bandh/Strike

• Treatment of Absence on 13.04.2018 for Bandh/Strike

  Governor has been pleased to decide that absence of employees on 13.04.2018 will be treated as dies non and no salary will be admissible.

• Employees of Darjeeling and Kalimpong will get Special CL

  All employees including those of GTA and Government Aided Institutions who attended office during the entire period of bandh will get 15 days’ Special Casual Leave.

• Treatment of Absence on 17.07.2017 for Bandh/Strike

  Governor has been pleased to decide that absence of employees on 17.07.2017 will be treated as dies non and no salary will be admissible.

• Office Attendance during Indefinite Bandh called by GJM

  In view of call given by Gorkha Janamukti Morcha for indefinite bandh/ strike on and from 12th June, 2017, it has been decided that all State Government offices would remain open.

• Treatment of Absence on 28.11.2016 for Bandh/Strike

  Governor has been pleased to decide that absence of employees on 28.11.2016 and 29.11.2016 will be treated as dies non and no salary will be admissible.

• No Leave on Bandh/Strike in the areas under GTA

  Gorkha Janamukti Morcha has called for bandh/strike in the areas under Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) on 28th September, 2016.

• Treatment of Absence on 02.09.2016 for Bandh/Strike

  Absence of employees on 2nd September, 2016 will be treated as dies non and no salary will be admissible unless such absence is covered by grounds as mentioned in F.D. Memo No. 2013-F dated 06.03.2012.

• Special Casual Leave for attending Schools on Bandh/ Strike

  Teaching and Non-teaching staff of the Schools, who attended the date on which Bandh/ Strike call given by different Central Trade Unions, may avail of one day Special Casual leave.

• Special Casual Leave for attending Office on Bandh/ Strike

  One day’s Special Casual Leave will be granted to those employees of all offices who attended office on 02.09.2015. Such Special Casual Leave shall be availed of within 31.12.2015.

  • Absence is not DIES NON in case of already sanctioned Leave

    Absence will not be treated as dies non and no salary will be deducted in case of leave like Child Care Leave, Maternity Leave, Earned Leave, etc. sanctioned before the date of issuance of order No. 6535-F dated 01.09.2015.

  • Absence on 2nd September, 2015 will be treated as DIES NON

    An employee who absents himself on Bandh day by tagging leave on that day with other days will also be treated as absent and the entire period of absence will be treated as dies non and no salary will be admissible.

  • State Govt. Offices would remain Open on 02.09.2015 Bandh

    In view of call given by different Trade Unions for bandh/strike all over the country on the 2nd September, 2015, it has been decided that all State Government offices would remain open.

  • Night Stay at Office by the Staff and Officers on 01.09.2015

    The desirous staff and officers of Finance Department have been allowed to stay at their respective offices situated at Nabanna, Writers’ Buildings, Todi Mansion and Bikash Bhaban at the night of 1st September, 2015.

  • Absence of Employees due to Strike/ Bandh on 18.08.2015

    Governor has been pleased to decide that absence of employees on that date (18th August, 2015) will be treated as dies non and no salary will be admissible unless such absence.

  • Absence on 30.04.2015 will be treated as DIES NON

    All State Government offices including those provided with Grants-in-Aid by the State Government would remain open and all the employees should report for duty on 30th April, 2015.

  • Letter to Colleges regarding Absence on 20.02.13 and 21.02.13

    All the employees of his college whose absence on 20th and 21st February, 2013 have not been substantiated under any ground set forth in the Oder No. 2013-F (P) dated 06.03.2012. Action in this regard is to be completed by 31st March, 2013.

  • Letter to University regarding Absence on 20.02.13 and 21.02.13

    A detailed report may also be submitted to this Department regarding the action taken so far by the University in this behalf by 31st March, 2013.

  • Treatment of Absence of Employees on 20.02.13 and 21.02.13

    All actions in terms of this order should be completed by 31st March, 2013. Compliance report on the action taken should be sent to the Finance Department.

  • Strike Order from West Bengal Board of Primary Education

    I would like to enclose herewith order no. 254(60)-ISS dated 18th February, 2013 issued by The Chief Secretary, to the Govt. of West Bengal dt. 18-02-2013, read with the order of the Additional Secretary, to the Govt. of West Bengal.

    • Strike related Government Order from Home Department

      Attempts at forcible closure of government offices, shops, markets, educational institutions, industrial establishments, etc should be firmly dealt with. All state government offices will remain open on those days and all government employees should report for duty.

    • Applicability of Strike Order to Other Employees of State

      To remove such confusion it is clarified that all the provisions in the said Memo are equally applicable to all employees of Corporations, Boards, Undertakings, Statutory Bodies, Local Bodies, Educational Institutions etc.

    • Government Circular regarding Strike on 20th September, 2012

      NDA has given a call for a 24-hours Bharat bundh all over India commencing from 06-00 hours on the 20th September, 2012 and left front has also called for a 12-hours general strike in West Bengal.

    • Treatment of Absence on 28.02.2012 for Bandh/ Strike

      The absence will be treated as dies non and no salary will be admissible for that day. However this will not affect past service of the concerned employee.
